Reading is in the heart of the Thames Valley with easy access from all areas of the country. The M4 has three junctions at Reading, with the M25, M40 and M3 within easy reach, and both Heathrow and Gatwick airports close by.

From airports

Reading has speedy links to both Heathrow and Gatwick. Heathrow is about 40 minutes via the M4 and Gatwick is about 1hour, 20 mintues via M4/M25. You can travel by coach direct to/from Heathrow with the Railair Link service , or use the regular direct train services to Gatwick which also run from Reading Station.

Reading Buses - comprehensive local and rural buses with pick-up point on Station Hill and around the city centre.

Readibus - a door-to-door service for people who have difficulties using public transport.

Coach Services

National Express - National coach networks to all points of Britain, and parts of Europe. Service runs from the Reading Coachway, Pincents Lane (nr. Savacentre),. Calcot, Reading - to the west of town near Junction 12 of M4.

Train Services

Reading Station - operated by Railtrack, offers mainline services to all parts of Britain.

Great Western and Virgin operate services to all major cities in the UK. There are frequent high-speed train to London Paddington (25 minutes). Thames Trains, local services throughout the Thames Valley are. South West Trains operate local services throughout the South coast and West country region. Reading Station is in the heart of the city centre, on Station Hill. For national rail.

Taxis

There is a 24 hour black cab rank outside the main entrance of Reading Station. There are plenty of black cabs around the city which can be hailed at any time. Additionally, your hotel can recommend reputable radio-cab, and private hire firms. Please allow plenty of time for your journeys, especially when travelling at peak times.
